Dr Syed Shah is a Consultant Psychiatrist who has for the last 15 years specialized in the area of Youth Mental Health. Dr Shah has worked widely in Australia and also in the United Kingdom. Dr Shah is the Chief Executive Officer at PsychCare Services and Visiting Youth Psychiatrist at a number of Headspace sites across Queensland and New South Wales. Dr Shah held previous positions as Head of Ipswich Clinical School and Staff Specialist in Child and Youth Mental Health Services in Ipswich. Dr Shah is passionate about clinical psychiatry and enjoys teaching medical students, junior doctors and registrars. In recognition of this, he was awarded the 2011 Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award at the University of Queensland where he is currently a Senior Lecturer. Dr Shah has a special interest in Anxiety and Mood Disorders (including Bipolar Disorder), early intervention in Psychosis and the diagnosis and management of ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders in children and adults.
Dr Mei Siew has worked as an Adult Psychiatrist in the public health system for more than 11 years, initially in New Zealand and latterly in Australia. She has extensive experience in treating and managing patients with Mood and Psychotic Disorders, Anxiety Disorders and those with complex presentations. Through her collaborative work with the Eating Disorders Outreach Service in managing Eating Disorder patients, Dr Siew is fast developing expertise in this field.
She has been strongly involved with teaching of medical students and Psychiatric Registrars and is a Senior Lecturer with the University of Queensland.
