Dr Syed Shah has over 20 years of experience working as a trusted Child and Youth Psychiatrist in Australia and the UK.

He has a special interest in Anxiety and Mood Disorders (including Bipolar Disorder), Eating Disorders, and the diagnosis and management of ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders.

He has previously held positions as Head of The University of Queensland Ipswich Clinical School as well as Staff Specialist in Child and Youth Mental Health Services in Ipswich, Queensland.

Passionate about clinical psychiatry, Syed has enjoyed teaching junior doctors, registrars and medical students. Syed was awarded the 2011 Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award at The University of Queensland where he is a Senior Lecturer.

He is also a Visiting Psychiatrist at various Headspace sites across Queensland and New South Wales.
